Hanoians hold New Year gala in Berlin
The association of Hanoi people in Germany hosted a gala in Berlin on January 8 to welcome the New Year 2011 and review its operations in 2010.
Present at the event were Phan Y Nhi, Counsellor and head of the community affairs department of the Vietnamese Embassy in Germany , and a large number of representatives from Vietnamese associations and organisations in the European country.
The association’s chairman Nguyen Xuan Hung said since its establishment in June 2010, the association successfully organised four major cultural events and worthy of note was a celebration for the 1,000 th founding anniversary of Thang Long-Hanoi.
It has also attracted more members so as to increase cultural activities to serve overseas Vietnamese in Germany , helping them feel closer toward the homeland, including the capital city of Hanoi , Hung said.
Nhi spoke highly of the association’s significant activities to improve the cultural and spiritual lives of overseas Vietnamese and Hanoi lovers in Germany.
