Phu Quoc National Park is among the Parks where the primitive forest is still remained in its original state. The beauty of this National Park is the combination of the forest, the ocean, stream, waterfall and mountain and hill. The Park occupies a diversified flora system featured by the evergreen forest growing on low mountains and hills. The main species include great perennial trees (cajuput, chestnut, wild mangosteen, etc), precious species of orchid and herb (liquorice, amomum, etc) and other parasitic species (orchid, fern, etc.)
Along with such diversified flora system, Phu Quoc National Park also comprises a large number of fauna species including 30 species of animal (five of which have been recorded in Vietnam’s Red Book like forest wolf, white monkey, pille gibbon, etc; 200 species of birds; 50 species of reptile, etc.
Besides, Phu Quoc Natinal Park also possesses many species of coral reef with various shapes and sizes. Among these are about 100 species of hard coral reef, 20 species of soft coral reef and 62 kinds of seaweed. In addition, there are many other kinds of fishes and marine precious species like dugong.
With such multiform ecological system, this is one of the ecological diversification center of the country. Currently, Phu Quoc National Park is being preserved and developed; along with that, many wild and valuable species are being multiplied and developed.
